Homosexuality, defined as romantic or sexual attraction to individuals of the same sex, is not a crime, it’s simply a biological drive that every normal human experiences in some form. A homosexual person is born with distinct mental and physical needs, so you can’t blame them for it; it’s their natural biological inclination, which is entirely normal. Modern science views homosexuality as a natural variation in human sexuality, supported by genetic, hormonal, and neurological evidence.
On the other hand, Islam’s flawed, violent, and demonic teachings in the Quran and Hadiths generally prohibit homosexual acts and prescribe punishments ranging from flogging to death, proving that Islam isn’t a divine message but rather something written by barbaric people, with Muhammad being one of them. The Quran mentions the story of the prophet Lot, whose people were destroyed for engaging in homosexual behavior.
In Surah Hud, verse 82, it describes the destruction of Lot’s community: “When Our command came, We turned the cities upside down and rained down on them clustered stones of baked clay.” Surah Al-Shu’ara, verses 165-175, also mentions severe stone strikes upon them: “Do you approach males among the worlds and leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing.” They said, “If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted.” He said, “Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].” “My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do.” So We saved him and his family, all, except an old woman among those who remained behind. Then We destroyed the others. And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. The companions of the thicket denied the messengers.
Islam and Muhammad’s Orders to Kill Homosexuals
A Hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas states that Muhammad said, “Whoever you find doing as the people of Lot did (i.e., homosexuality), kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” This is recorded in Jami’ at-Tirmidhi (Book 17, Hadith 1456), Sunan Abu Dawud (Book 39, Hadith 4447), and Sunan Ibn Majah (Vol. 3, Book 20, Hadith 2561).
Sunan Abu Dawud 4447 states: “Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death.” However, the broader context in related narrations emphasizes killing both parties involved.
Scholar Ibn Baz stated: “The punishment for homosexuality is death. There is consensus on this among the Prophet and his Companions. They all agreed that the homosexual should be killed, whether married or unmarried.” Some jurists say that for homosexuality, like adultery, if married, the punishment is stoning to death, and if unmarried, one hundred lashes and exile for a year.
Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 2561, aligns with this: “It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.’” Abu Bakr, Ali, Abdullah ibn Zubayr, and Hisham ibn Abdul Malik reportedly burned homosexuals to death.
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas: “The homosexual should be thrown headlong from the top of the highest building in the neighborhood, then stoned.” This is in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (Hadith 28328) and Al-Sunan al-Kubra by Al-Bayhaqi (Vol. 8, p. 232).
Islam is so barbaric and cruel that it orders the killing of a person for their natural inclinations. Let’s see what science says.
The American Psychological Association (APA), American Psychiatric Association, and World Health Organization (WHO) have a scientific consensus: homosexuality is a normal variation of human sexuality, not a mental disorder. This view is based on extensive research across multiple disciplines.
Bisexuality/homosexuality is well-documented across animal species. Research shows same-sex and bisexual behavior in mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. For example, Bailey and Zuk (2009) in their review in Trends in Ecology & Evolution highlighted same-sex sexual behavior in over 450 species, including primates, dolphins, and seabirds like gulls. Young et al. (2008) in Hormones and Behavior described bisexual mounting in male rams, linked to brain structure differences. Bagemihl (1999) in Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity cataloged bisexual behavior in bonobos, penguins, and giraffes, often for social bonding or flexible reproductive strategies. These behaviors suggest evolutionary advantages like social cohesion or conflict reduction.
Genetic Research: Twin studies show a heritable component to sexual orientation. A 2019 study in Science by Ganna et al. analyzed genomes of over 470,000 people and found genetic variants associated with same-sex behavior, indicating a biological basis. Though there’s no single “gay gene,” multiple genetic factors contribute, similar to complex traits like height or personality.
Brain Structure and Function: Neuroscientific research, like LeVay (1991) in Science, showed differences in the hypothalamus (INAH-3) between homosexual and heterosexual men, suggesting neurological differences related to sexual orientation that are present from early life.
Hormonal Influences: Prenatal hormones like testosterone levels affect later sexual orientation. Hines (2011) in Frontiers in Neuroendocrinology found that variations in hormones during pregnancy influence sexual orientation development, supporting its biological roots.
In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders, as it causes no inherent mental harm or impairment. The World Health Organization (WHO) removed it from ICD-10 in 1990.
Research by Meyer (2003) in Psychological Bulletin shows that mental health issues in LGBTQ+ populations stem from social rejection and discrimination, not orientation itself. Long-term studies like Savin-Williams and Ream (2007) in Archives of Sexual Behavior indicate sexual orientation forms naturally in adolescence and remains stable over time for most people.
Those who view homosexuality or bisexuality as a disorder or mental issue are usually influenced by religious or cultural ideologies, not science. Homosexuals and bisexuals deserve normal lives like everyone else; we should reject Islam’s cruelty and make space for all people in society.
